Spring and Summer Release Wines Have Arrived!

We're proud to announce the release of our Spring and Summer wines!  You can see data sheets and details on the Wines page.

2013 Les Collines Vineyard / Walla Walla Valley AVA Viognier

2014 Seattle Wine Awards Gold Medal

With peach and tropical fruit aromas and flavors balanced by fresh acidity, this wine pairs well with food, as well having enough weight on the palate to be enjoyed on the patio in the summer afternoon sun. It pairs well with Indian cuisine, rich seafood and shellfish, foie gras, chicken and duck.

2012 Upland Vineyards / Snipes Mountain AVA Grenache

The bright notes of strawberry jam and black currants are paired with a surprising tannic structure and a finish, with hints of allspice and sandalwood not always present in a single varietal Grenache.

2012 Columbia Valley AVA Pont Brűlé

2014 Seattle Wine Awards Gold Medal

2014 San Francisco International Wine Competition Silver Medal

This classic southern Rhone-style blend is comprised of Grenache (60%), Syrah (30%), and Mourvčdre (10%) from three exceptional vineyards in Washington state: Upland Vineyards in the Snipes Mountain AVA, Les Collines Vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley AVA, and Coyote Canyon Vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. This wine displays layers of dark late-summer berries, cedar, and violets. Mourvčdre adds a layer of dark berries, earth and game for an exceptionally complex wine. Our Pont Brűlé is an homage to our love of Rhone blends.

2012 Les Collines Vineyard / Walla Walla Valley AVA Syrah

2014 Seattle Wine Awards Double Gold Medal

2014 San Francisco International Wine Competition Silver Medal

Our 2012 Les Collines Syrah is rich and opulent, laden with dark fruits, cassis, and violets, with a long, lingering finish.  We're extremely proud of our first double gold winner!

2013 Les Collines Vineyard / Walla Walla Valley AVA Semillon

Semillon is the principal white wine grape of the Bordeaux region and can be produced in many styles including a dry White Bordeaux style, such as this current release, and the famous Sauternes of France. With aromas of peach, apricot and honeysuckle are complemented by crisp apple, orange blossom and honey on the palate. It pairs nicely with spicy Thai food, roasted chicken or pork, and rich seafood such as lobster or scallops.

2013 Upland Vineyard / Snipes Mountain AVA Grenache Rosé

Our 2013 Grenache Rosé is resplendent with bright strawberry and cherry candy aromas typical of the variety. By limiting contact with the skins, we captured the flavors and aromas of Grenache while leaving behind the tannins, producing a refreshing but fruity lightly colored wine reminiscent of Provence.  (very limited quantities)

Burnt Bridge Cellars is a small artisan winery located in Vancouver, Washington.  Owners David Smith and Mark Mahan began making wine together in 2008, bringing their dream of operating a winery to fruition in the fall of 2010 with a 300 case harvest of Bordeaux and Rhone varietal fruit from the Columbia River AVA, primarily from the Walla Walla Valley and Yakima Valley near Sunnyside.  Our 2013 vintage includes grapes from 6 of  the best vineyards in Eastern Washington and Oregon and will produce about 1900 cases of wine.

A background of engineering, science, music, food and love of wine is blended together to reveal a product that is a balance of art and science.  Finding the best fruit grown in Washington and Oregon, treating it with care during crush, using only minimal interventions necessary to allow for varietal expressiveness while embracing each vintage’s unique features has produced wines with exceptional varietal character and balance.

Our winery is located at 1500 Broadway in Vancouver, WA
